In late September 2024, the AvidTravellrer embarked on a whirlwind 72-hour journey to Madrid with friends, starting with a lively, history-filled city expedition. Walking through dynamic squares, we immersed ourselves in the city's history and vibrant environment.


Our group's diverse choices led to numerous activities. Suzanne and Richard began the firstday one night with an unforgettable dinner at Bodega de los Secretos, a relaxing, centuries-old dining establishment loaded with beauty. The following my wife and I signed up with a tapas and white wine walking tour led by the enthusiastic Mario. We checked out a number of local hotspots. Throughout the journey, we delighted in memorable meals at local restaurants like Casa Verona and Casa Alberto, where we indulged in authentic Spanish dishes such as anchovies in olive oil, croquettes, and even the famed calamari sandwich.
